What’s new in Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur in 2016

Destination Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur keeps on moving!

In 2015, many sites or projects were launched as the Hotel de Tourrel, a new 7-bedrooms boutique hotel in the heart of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the inauguration of a great horseback riding trail to mark the bicentenary of the Route Napoleon, the opening of the Hôtel de Caumont, a new art center in Aix-en-Provence, the reopening of the Bastide de Gordes which had an international resonance un the media, a new marketing for the snorkeling activities along the Mediterranean coast, the sustainability of a winter shuttle between the station of Oulx and the ski resorts of the Southern Alps making Serre-Chevalier and Montgenèvre reachable in less than 5 hours from Paris, in short, there’s something for everyone!

In 2016, there will be other surprises … like the opening of the Grand Hotel Henry in Isle sur la Sorgue; in Marseille, three hotels will also see the day; in Avignon, the long-awaited “Carré du Palais” will open this Spring and will gather a wine school, a wine bar, a bistro and a gourmet restaurant to showcase the wines of the Rhône Valley. Culture wise, the national museum “MuCEM”, the most visited site in the region will exhibit works by Picasso related to popular arts and traditions; while the Velodrome stadium will host a couple of football matches for the Euro 2016. In the Alps, the new “airboard” toboggan style activity will give a rush of adrenaline in the Ecrins… among many other things!
