This vast protected region between Provence and the Alpes bears witness to the past 300 million years on Earth. A natural region listed as a European Geopark with the support of UNESCO, this is the biggest geological reserve in Europe. Here you will find a wealth of exceptional landscapes as you follow the “route of time”. An open-air museum and a space for biodiversity, the reserve contains a fabulous collection of fossils (the Dalle aux Ammonites has over a thousand of them), as well as tropical sea and Mediterranean aquariums illustrating the memory of the sea.
The shaded park includes waterfalls, works of art and a Japanese garden. In Digne-les-Bains, the Promenade Museum is a chance for visitors to explore the rich and varied local scientific heritage.
