Excellent news for the travel trade in Provence, a “destination contract” has been signed in December 2015 between the French Government, Provence-Alps-Côte d’Azur and Bouches-du-Rhône Tourism Boards, including other local authorities.
This partnership, which is on an almost unprecedented scale is designed to create internationally recognised high-quality and innovative attractions on this territory. Only 20 destinations in the country have been taken on by the Tourism Secretary of State. Destination Provence is endowed with a special budget to develop its renown and attractiveness internationally.
Following on from Marseille-Provence 2013 European Capital of Culture, the “Provence Destination Contract” signatories join their forces to promote “Arts of living in Provence” through Heritage, Food Culture and Festivals.
